About Todd
Mr. Russell launched his political career as Chair of the student council during his years at Memorial University's Sir Wilfred Grenfell College campus. He was elected to the board of the Labrador Metis Association, now the Labrador Metis Nation, in 1992. Two years later he was elected president, a position he held until 2005. He has also served on a number of national boards.

Upon completion of high school, Mr. Russell attended Memorial University in St. John's, graduating with a bachelor of arts in history and classics. While pursuing his high school diploma and subsequent to completing his university degree, he worked on an oil tanker for two years before accepting a position as an Outreach Counsellor with the Atlantic Groundfish Strategy.
